Nissan issued a TSB today regarding the window streak that has plagued many of our cars. They now have a repair kit that your dealer can order to eliminate the streaks. I do not know what all is contained in the kit, but will let you know once it comes in.

The TSB reference # is NTB03-029 and the classification # is BT03-010.

I would call your dealer and get the kit ordered ASAP as I imagine the demand will be quite high...

GOOD NEWS! :D

Excellent information! I was just thinking about this yesterday as I was wiping the grease off my windows.

Do we have a thread on the cuurent TSB list?

I still haven't had my amp replaced yet.

Though I have already ripped out the stereo.

Nice job, PowerZ. I'll be putting my order in ASAP with my boys at O'Brien Nissan service.

As the list of TSB's starts to grow, we might want to think about a separte forum section or a section under "350z Info" to post the list.

I second that motion. I have to stop by the dealership this weekend, so I'll spend some time with their most recent TSB CDs and try to assemble the authoritative list.

Once assembled, I think we can find a home to post it. :)

I wonder if this is going to match the parts that my dealer called to tell me that they have in for my window streaks. Doubt it but I'll see what they try to do.

I just had the work done to remove the grease smears and the good news is it works.

They have to get inside the door to remove some felt on the window guides and clean off some extra grease. The part they ordered for mine was the felt needed on the replacement.

I'm going to take my doors apart this week to install some new speakers. I wonder if I could try just cleaning up some of the grease in there. It would be even better if the dealer would let me come in and replace the speakers while they have the doors apart, but I doubt that would ever happen.

Frank,
There is a big metal plate behind the door panel that would need to be removed for the window grease issue. The plate doesn't need to be removed for speaker installation. See below for what it looks like when we were having the windows tinted.

How many one-way fasteners are there in the door install? Knowing the way most cars are made today, I can envision a lot of plastic clips, etc, which may break on removal. If I'm going to do the grease TSB, I want to be sure I have the right stuff to keep my door panel from clapping around when I'm done!

(Maybe I should get going on that TSB list for the site...)

They ended up replacing the felt vice cleaning because they said the cleaner would eventually eat the felt away. I don't know what that would cause.

I'm going to need an oil change in about 500 miles, so I think I'll just have it done then. I still need to have my toe in checked as well before I start getting the tire feathering.

Any other TSB's I should get done while I'm there?

I only got my driver side window repaired because they didn't ship both kits when they ordered them.

I called NNA after I had it done and NNA told me that the installer needs to move the glass down further so that the window will do it's little dance and make sure it clears the frame.

I took my car back over to the service center and that guy said the stopper is what is preventing it from moving down like before and that it should be fine it shouldn't hit the frame, and it makes a better seal now

He said the stopper pushes the glass out away from the roller.

He said that the glass doesn't come out and there is no way to move it down lower.

He was trying to prove his point by showing me a car that was built 3/3 and it moved down further. It definitely moves down further than mine does with the fix. Does anyone know if cars built 3/3 would have the grease problem? So I don't know what to do now.

So I guess I'll just have to wait for a TSB for this TSB? Kind of like hot fixes for windows service packs?

This was dealt with over at my350. His dealer is full of crap and he's gonna jump on him loaded with pictures on how it should be done. I told him to call NNA as well, he's on to them now. If you want to check it out, its over at the TSB for grease is out.

Also, this is off topic , but some dealer is shimming the rear suspension to lower it and says it cures the alignment problems. Someone was foolish enough to ask for comments, so I did my usual, what if. It could be good for a laugh, but the fix brought up some very interesting items. Ignore my stuff and look at the rest, maybe. Just look in the ride problems thread or my post before this one if you're interested.
