... when I first bought the Z, and I'm wondering, Do you really notice a difference with the Injen or AEM? If so, let's get some input of which system is truly better, so we can get some up-to-date info. I appreciate and value everyone's input. Thank you in advance, Happy Zenus!::)

I don't notice a difference with my Injen. I dynoed got .5 hp.
Link to my dyno sheet (http://www.350zfrenzy.com/modifications/engine/injen_dyno/injen_dyno.jpg)

I did notice the power curve was much smoother. I know I don't like the looks of the Pop Charger. I wanted something that came down under the front bumper and collected cold air vs. air around the motor. The rain has left huge puddles to deal with and definitely don't want to be sucking up water. I might go with the AEM if I had it to do over again due to all the rain lately. Where exactly is the filter on the AEM?

I know alphaz put on the Injen and dynoed and got 5 hp. Alphaz please confirm that number and give your thoughts on the Injen.

2003z what do you think of your Injen?

Dr Bonz what do you think of the AEM?

I had the JWT pop charger and now I have the AEM. The AEM got me +7hp on the dyno over the JWT pop. The first Difference I noticed was the Sound, the POP sounder really mean down in the low rpms where the AEM is kind of quite. but over 4k the AEM comes to life and sounds Great. I also like the sucking sound from the AEM when you rev the engine it almost sounds like it is blowing you a kiss. I went with the AEM because of the Color(blue) and the air filter location( it is behind the left side marker under the headlight and is covered by the under panel),. The only Prob i have had with it so far is that i hit a LARGE(6-7" deep) puddle of water the other night and, although the car never staled, the filter got loaded with water and I could not get the engine over 2.5k rpms with out it bogging down (from lack of air). Now I am thinking that I might need to install the water by-pass on the AEM(it's like $30). Also I think that my Front lip pushed up alot more water into the engine area than a stock front end would.

I've been driving in torrential downpours and had no problems with the injen. Its hard to hear anything over my exhaust, but just today at auto-x, another 350 owner said it sounded great, like a supercharger whine.

As for power, with a 2.25" ypipe, flowmaster muffler, and injen, my overall dyno curve showed about a 1hp gain, but a 4hp loss at peak, where the graph was choppy.

I think when I get my technosquare ecu upgrade, I will be able to take advantage of the added airflow.

I have the JWT Pop charger and thus far I have no problems with it at all. Before I decided to change out the stock air box I was thinking of just changing the air filter and leaving it stock. I have heard around the horn how the stock set up was already very optimal and so I thought if it's not broke then don't try to fix it. But then one came up on ebay cheap so I thought what the hey if it does'nt work that well I can always revert back to stock. The other reason I decided to take the pop charger over the CAI is that the stock air box and the pop charger both come off of the MAF sensor w/o the extra tubing. Some might argue that it is the extra tubing that gets the extra horse power, better throttle response etc. but I do not have to worry about rainy days either.

I got 3.5 hp with the Injen CAI. You can hear the CAI sucking in air on mine inside the car. It sounds like a mini SC spinning up. I believe I have the lastest verison of the Injen.
Mine has a vacuum line and a filter on it.

I agree completely with Chazz. It sounds stock below 4K but you get a really mean GROWL above this. I too like the "suction" sound you get with it. I haven't had any problems with water but haven't really driven in any really heavy rain.

I have the injen cai hooked up to the pop charger which is down in the front grill. I started with the pop charger (when I got the car back in october) and added the injen (polished upper / black lower) back in March.

just the pop charger gives a big growl when you hit it. you can hear the air flow in. when it is hooked into the injen intake you loose a little in the whoosh sound but it gives a more even hard pull feeling through out the entire pedal while accelerating.

heres a photo to show you where I put it!
