Folks:

Way back in the day, there was this other site that people used to gather at to talk about the Z (I can't remember the exact URL, though).

Anyhoo, the question came up a long while ago as to why NNA had reserved the DNS entry 350zr.com. Theories abounded that this would be the high-power version of the Z, which was a legit claim given the history of the Z and the versions that the Japanese market was privy to. (240ZR anyone???)

My humble theory was that the "R" would stand for "roadster". Guess who was right...

http://www.config.nissanusa.com/redirect.jsp?tryset=true&model=350ZR&option=_TE_E&style=&year=2004&flow=build&zip=07444&_scrollPos=109

I wish I could dig up that old thread on that other site so I can rub it in a few peoples' faces. I took a lot of grief for my suggestion, with lots of people claiming that I "knew nothing about the history of the Z".

If that punk showed up, I'd remind him that I've FORGOTTEN more about Z history than he ever knew...

Thought you'd all like to see the config page with the 350ZR reference. Strangely enough, the trunk badging is still 350Z. Go figure...

Each time I try to access the url, I get an error message.

Hmmm.... the URL works OK for me. Well, you can do the same by going to:

www.nissanusa.com
click on 350Z
click on roadster
click on either Enthusiast or Touring (doesn't matter)
Enter your ZIP, and click "design your Nissan"

This will take you to the build screen where you'll see the name...

Got it. Just built a $40K Roadster. I'll take my coupe, thank you very much. Track down the sob and fling it into his face! There, you feel better?
