took my car into gwinnett place nissan for the grind, which has become more prevalent and repeatable. They said if it needed replacing it would be a couple weeks. After the tech drove it and confirmed the need for a new one, they realized they had a transmission for someone else who was out of town for another week, and are putting that in my car, and his replacement will arrive by the time he returns too.

Great customer service at Gwinnett Place Nissan!

Cool

If possible, it would be great to find out the confirmed design changes (if any) in the new unit. That's been something of a grey area.

Won't this be your SECOND x-mission?

dont know about changes, but its my 2nd transmission, but only the first replacement. (original and this one)

until recently my grinding problems weren't consistent enough that I would be able to duplicate at dealer, so I lived with them.

New one is great though!

my service ticket says the problem was:
Internal Transmission Baulk Ring and coupler sleeve failure at high rpm.

Notice how smooth it is versus the original?

Its not as smooth as Jeremy's, but much smoother than my first one was when new. I'm sure it will break in just fine:cool:

Did you write the dealer "a letter" warning them to not scratch the engine bay paint when working under the hood? :D
