I'd like to achieve modest HP (300 at fly wheel) and handling gains (for road racing). I also want to stick to products that fall under the warranty if possible. Thoughts!

There are some mods but I don't think you will get to the gains you are looking for with out some type of forced induction. so let see.

Ijen Intake about 7.6 hp
Ijen Exhaust 17 hp
headers about 5 to 7 hp (nismo)
Cams 15 hp (nismo)

Here you are siting about 46.6 rear wheel hp!!

Add a e-Manage Engine Control Unit tune it and there you go.

Only thing is this will cost you as much as a ATI procharger And
not give you the as good of gains "369 rear weel hp" . :(

And nissan told me any mod to the motor will void the waranty.

Thanks. I believe that with cam, turbo, supercharger, etc. but I don't buy that for CAI or exhaust upgrades. I own a C5 Vette and did both--which most vette guys do and the dealer service never said a thing. My understand is by law the dealer has to prove the mods caused the particulary failure.

True. And in some cases it matters not what kind of mod was on the vehicle.

Ya, You may be able to get away with it but you are still taking a chance. I think that the car companies are caching on to mod world after cars like the WRX came out and dealers were getting hosed by guys putting on bigger turbo and messing with computers. After they broke the car they put the stock stuff back on and try to warranty their ignorance.

So know if they see one mode they assume that you have had more than one mod on your car. not only that but how can we as the customer prove that a mode didin't create a problem.

It's a lose, lose, sonario

For the most bang for your buck, think about just a K&N filter, and the Crawford Intake Plenum. You'll get about 12 hp at peak and 20 at redline with the combo- only $540 bucks too.

Do you have access to a dyno??? i'm curious to see whether their "23" hp to the ground numbers are accurate or not. I'm thinkin more along the lines of 10 to 15 hp to the ground. But how would you say it pulls harder? From idle to redline, or from what rpms to when? Thx.

No access to a dyno. Seat of the pants it seems quicker to redline from a rolling start. Howver, nothing dramatic. The Z mag article included Dyno's.
