I got a survey from JDP today (11/20/02).
They attach a dollar and ask you to rate the Z in several categories....
1. About You and Your New Vehicle
2. Shopping for Your New Vehicle
3. "Things Gone Wrong" A large number of questions.
4. What You Like and Don't Like (categories such as Vehicle Styling, Seats, Comfort and Convenience, Ride etc.)
5. Looking at Specific Features (A comprehensive listing)
6. Summing it Up
7. About You

I am impressed with the thoroughness of the survey and wonder what percentage of Z owners get it. On such a survey by a "reputable" company, I think it important to be as honest as possible. Of course, I love my Z and it will be a very positive reply.

What are the selection criteria for being chosen as a participant in JD Power's surveys? I've only bought one other new car in my life, and didn't get a survey then. Will everyone who bought a Z be getting a survey, or just a random sample?

I would think there is no need or all buyers of new cars to be questioned - too expensive. A random sampling of at least a predetermined minimum number of responses would suffice.

I got one about 2 months ago so their criteria must not be too tough! SInce I got one, my opinion of JD Power just went down big time! :D

I agree it pays to be very honest about any issues with your car...Nissan is most likely looking at these very closely.

I got my survey a couple of days ago. This the second one from them for me. As a preorder, they e-mailed me the several page long survey and asked if I would fill it out. I don't know how they got my e-mail address or why they wanted to hear from me. An odd thing happened while I was filling it out. I got to a point where I couldn't continue the survey, the next page wouldn't come up. I e-mailed them a couple of times to tell them I couldn't complete the survey because I could not get to the next page. Oh, well, they'll e-mail me back, some glitch in the software or just whatever.

They never called me back or contacted me again until I received a survey in the mail. Makes feel like I was auditioning to take a damn survey. Weird! I'll open it up tomorrow and see if it resembles the one before. If their questions are worth it I'll post a couple if anyone's interested.

Finally got mine in the mail yesterday. The crispy dollar bill was a nice touch, as well.

I took my time filling it out, and was impressed with the depth of the survey.
