Most, if not all Zs have a pin on the front rotor/hub to prevent the rear wheels from being mounted on the front. These MUST be removed to install aftermarket wheels. All it is , is a bolt about 3/4 inch in length(I'm not a metric kinda guy:o ), holding a sleeve/tube of about 1/2 inch length.

To remove, use a 12 mm wrench or socket, and turn normally counterclockwise. I just "popped" the handle with my palm, and it came loose. No need to use the old hammer handle between the studs trick, which will prevent the rotor from turning.......:D

Without further adooooooo, the pics:

Sorry if this is a stupid question, but I am new to owning a Z.

I am assuming if you use aftermarket wheels you can just remove this pin without causing any problems?

I just wanted to check.

So that's what OEM calipers look like! :grinyes:

To answer your question, yes, it should be removed, and it will present NO problems! It will increase your milage though, as you're removing weight! :cool44:

Glad to see someone using the search function!!! :sign16:
