I would think that of all people on the planet the Japanese could make a car with a decent radio in it. I love this car but the whole stereo thing stinks. The only worse stereo I’ve had in a car was in a 95 MX5. What if any mods has everyone done to improve their systems? I am just curious.

Yeah....stock radio = trash. Many peeps replaced their stock HU for a double din touch screen and some replaced it with carputer. I really want to replace mine but again i'm afraid if i replace it with a dd, it'll get broken into etc....now you need an alarm cause dd doesn't have the detachable face feature so it's hard to hide. Stock suck but it'll do for now

Ya I considered changing it out but I hate to put money into a car I'll trade in a year. I have changed the stock speakers out for Infinity Cappas, but the gain was minimal at best. I think my next step is a good single din that can travel from car to car. The last one I had was in and out of 5 different cars

I am considering the replacement of my tweeters with Infinity Kappas. Did you replace them with such? If so, was there a noticeable difference in highs freq.
If I have learned anything from Bose car audio systems, they lack highs. With my previously owned vehicle, a Caddy STS, I installed a pair of Pioneer tweeters (up to 30kHz). Man, it sounded so much better.
Does anyone know the freq. range of the tweeters in our Z cars?

I know it doesn't sound amazing but for stock I have to admit its pretty good. My old
S2000's stereo sucked compared to this. Never thought a convertible could have such a good stock system. I am picky too though and will some day upgrade the HU and some of the speakers.

I installed an Eclipse 2210p double din unit which has a Tom Tom nav system built into it. I replaced the rear speakers with 3 way Pioneers and installed a pair of Memphis soft dome tweeters beside the Pioneers. I now have very respectable sound with a 10 in Bose sub that actually pounds. This is about an 800 dollar upgrade.

i hate you......j/k, nice upgrade bro.
tennz...do it right and get a double din, you'll regret it if you get single but then again you're trading the car in after a year....go figure.

When its time for an ugrade I think this is the one that I am going with. How much is the unit? It would be nice if it would do dvd but I guess its not a necessity.

The radio goes for around 499. It is Ipod ready,Sirius ready, and bluetooth capable. It also has aux audio in, which I use for my dvd player.

Thats a great deal for the player. I remember you saying it wasn't too high priced. Like you did you can always stash a dvd player somewhere. It will be a ways down the line before I get to that point, but its always good to have a plan. Do you have any interior shot of the player? Is it very customizable, such as putting wallpapers or pics on it? Does it do voice by voice streets or turns?
