PREFACE: If this post seems inappropriate; please feel free to remove/move - you won’t hurt my feelings!

Hello everyone!

For any of your who are planning to buy a new 370 or, for that matter, any new Nissan or Infiniti vehicle within the next two to three months please feel free to contact me here by PM.

As do most manufacturers, Nissan offers special pricing on Nissan vehicles for Nissan employees and employee’s family members, and friends. Typically, an employee can only offer this benefit to just a few people per year but for a short time, Nissan as removed the “cap” on how many people an employee can offer this incentive to.

The program allows an employee or an individual the employee has sponsored to buy a vehicle at pre-determined, reduced prices – no negotiating or haggling with the dealer is needed to get a good deal. The dealer simply sells you the vehicle at the predetermined price which is typically a better price than an individual can negotiate on his/her own.

A lot of information about the program can be found here: http://www.insidenissan.com/vpp/nissan/index.html

I don’t have any specific information about any dealer – as I mentioned above, some dealers will participate and some won’t…some may participate on an Altima or a M45 but not on a 370Z or a G37…it’s totally voluntary on their part. Chances are, even if one dealer won't participate you can probably find one not too far away who will. If your favorite dealer declines to participate pleas don't be "mad" at them...keep in mind that dealers are independent businesses and need to do what they think best for their business!

As far as prices go, I can’t give (and don’t have) specific prices but if you use the link above, it will at least give you an idea of the program and how good a deal it would be for you.

Individual salesmen may not be familiar with the program – I suggest you call the dealer you may want to work with and speak with their fleet sales manager, tell them what you would like to buy and ask if they participate in the Nissan Vehicle Purchase Program.

If you wish to use the VPP program; this is what I’ll need from you in PM:

Your name: First, Middle Initial and Last
Your street address, city, state and zip
What model vehicle you intend to purchase (i.e. 370z, 350z, Altima, G37, etc.)
Your email address (as I’ll have PDF documents I’ll need to email to you)

When I receive your information, I’ll be able to generate a VPP claim number through our system which I’ll provide to you along with a scanned copy of my ID/info which you’ll then take to your participating dealer.

The VPP claim numbers are good for 90 days from the date they are issued so you should plan to get the number close to the time you want to buy.

If you haven any other questions, please ask and I’ll do my best to answer but the link I provided above does a pretty good job of explaining the program.

If you are interested and truly ready to buy, please feel free to contact me!

Since someone will ask …

All Nissan employees (employees of the company itself or affiliates) can provide the Vehicle Purchase Plan benefit to family or friends (and of course themselves) and all employees are encouraged to use the program for themselves and family and friends; however as I noted above, we are generally restricted to just a few per year (including any vehicles we might want to buy for ourselves)…that restriction has been lifted for this quarter.

Typically, we don’t get anything “out of it” except the chance to promote the products of the company we work for. For this quarter, however, for any VPP claim number we obtain that ultimately results in a sale, our name is put in a raffle and the winner will receive the free use of any Nissan (sans GT-R unfortunately) or Infinity vehicle of their choice for year.

It’s a nice prize but given the thousands of employees who will be participating, I’m not overly optimistic about winning - if I happen to be lucky enough, I’ll let you all know!

Sweet deal... Robert. Thanks for posting this. I'm going to inform some of my friends who might be interested in purchasing a new Nissan.

What is the deal with the 5% delivery fee? 5% of what, the purchase price?

To be honest...I'm really not sure.

I do know that all the vehicles have a delivery fee attached to them - I'll check into it and get back with you.

Thanks for posting the offer, Robert! Good luck in the contest.

We used a similar program when we purchased our Tahoe. It makes the car buying process easier.

To keep this as simple as possible, the program basically allows you to buy a Nissan/Infiniti vehicle at just under the dealer invoice cost - the customer still pays any normal taxes, etc. that they would normally pay when buying a car (the VPP customer can verify because the dealer provides the invoice for them to see).

Nissan North America itself pays the dealer the 5% delivery change (5% of their invoice price) which essentially provides the dealer their profit on the sale of the vehicle.

Typically, this is going to be a better deal than a customer could get simply walking into a showroom because a dealer is usually going to want to sell the vehicle for a decent amount over their invoice cost.

Also, I understand that any other incentives still apply so if you were buying a vehicle that had a $1,000 rebate on the hood from Nissan, that would still apply.

OK the way I read it, we would fall into plan C not being the employee or family member, and we would pay half of that 5% fee or 2.5%

So it would be C Plan
* Dealer invoice
* Minus VPP discount (Nissan 2.87% : Infiniti 1.65%)
* Plus dealer added options, Security Plus, Infiniti Extended Protection Plan, etc.
* Plus 2.5% delivery fee of dealer invoice after VPP discount has been subtracted
* Plus destination and handling charge
* Minus applicable incentives
* Equals participant's purchase price

So basically we can buy the car at dealer invoice minus 0.37% (Nissan) plus destination and handling charges minus incentives, and any other dealer options we chose, which usually is none for me.

That's it!

For someone going to buy a Titan or something that isn't selling well, a person may well do better on their own...but for a vehicle that is selling well like the 370 or a G37 it should save some real money compared to what a person could negotiate on their own.
