What's on your wish list for the new Z?
I'm sure a lot of you are waiting eagerly for the unveiling of the new Z in November, whether that be in Paris or Los Angeles. As an original pre-orderer, I've had some time to think about what would make my wish list on the new Z, and invite others to add their thoughts as well.
1. Lighten up! This is my biggest wish. I don't need an overwhelming increase in power, but I hope the new Z is significantly lighter, so it feels more athletic, more alive! As a current B15 driver (hold the jokes, please), the one feature I like most is that the platform is very well-sorted and agile.
2. Keep it affordable, keep it in the spirit of the original Z. $30K is pushing it for keeping it in the spirit of the original 240Z. Hopefully NNA will keep the prices reasonable, and offer much better value for the dollar than other competitors. Recall that the original 240Z was compared against Corvettes and 911s routinely in its day. I'd like to think that the new Z should be able to hold its own against a base 911. The Corvette may admittedly be a stretch (it's an incredible value for the money).
3. Reduce the overall footprint. Shorter wheelbase, please!
How about you? What would you add to the list?

Good call on the tire feathering. Do the newer Z33s still have that problem?

my wish for the new Z is that they keep it stylish and sexy. the design of the Z is what i like the most. all the rest(performance. reliability) are bonuses. thats what i hope for. and enough perfromance to blow the evo and subaru guys out of the water.

A factory twin turbo model in addition to NA.
More adjustability with camber, caster and toe to facilitate lowering spring or coilovers.

Get rid of Bose and use Infinity or something high end like Linn, Dynaudio, Mark Levinson, Mcintosh or Focal

Great call on both of these. I think the TT version would present a problem for GT-R candidates, though.
I completely agree with the need to have better front suspension adjustability from the factory.
Add native support for us Zune owners, too! (It's not an Ipod world!!!)
I'd also recommend that any and all Nismo catalog parts be a la carte orderable from the factory. They did this with select parts, but to my knowledge it wasn't all of them. (let me worry about passing inspection with an I/H/E!)

They're probably special-made for the v2 Nismo S-Tune Z when it first made its debut in Japan. I love those seats too, and wish Nissan would have made them available. Chances of us "mere mortals" getting them are probably about as slim as getting an authentic Nismo v2 rear spoiler, sad to say...
That's one thing on the top of my wish list that's not specific to the next version of the 350Z--better availability for the really cool parts for the average Z owner in the U.S. What often hurts more than the price is the fact that you have a better chance of hitting the lottery every day of the week than being able to get half of this stuff. And of course, there's the usual four month or more waiting period...
Yeah, I know, dream on--like the situation will ever change--but hey, that's why it's called a wish list, right?
