Can you imagine going out onto the street and yelling, "TAXI!" and having that one pull up to you!

For the most part, it was. Not as many cars there this year. Unfortunately, a fight that broke out, several participants who kept having a "who's going to rupture everyone's eardrums first" contest with their air-horns all day, and late judging than ran an hour past its 8 PM closing time, put somewhat of a damper on things.
Some people got tired and frustrated waiting for the results from the judges and left before the results were in. I felt like someone was dropping rounds of artillery on the top of my head when I got home. While I expect some noise at events like this, it's gotten way beyond excessive. When I was at the Cars At The Club show, the DJs were forced to play inside the club, and the participants had to leave their audio systems off for the duration, as the neighbors nearby started complaining to the police about the noise. Truthfully, I can't say much that I blame them. The individuals involved in the fight were separated by security, but they weren't thrown out. It's a wonder someone's car wasn't damaged or worse, someone's child didn't get hurt.
I don't know if I'll participate in any more of Flex's events. He needs to do something about the insane noise levels, which was a lot worse this year than last--and add more security that will bounce people out the door who can't control their tempers or fists.
On the other hand, I did have a good time meeting and talking with people, and it was good seeing Al Derenzo again from last year, who not only had his Saleen entered but his new Shelby Cobra Mustang autographed by Carroll Shelby. Anyway, I'm looking forward to the State Fair Auto & Bike Show on July 12th at Giant Stadium in the Meadowlands.

Yeah, that would be something. You'd be out of luck without a step-ladder!

NJ--the points you make about the show should definately be communicated to the organizers. I agree that competing sound offs all day during a show make it un-fun.
